INDIANAPOLIS – Butler could not take it to overtime this time.
Rob Phinsee’s 3-pointer from beyond 30 feet swished as time expired, lifting Indiana over Butler 71-68 Saturday in college basketball’s Crossroads Classic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Bulldogs (7-3) led by 11 points in the first half and 10 in the second, never trailing until the closing four minutes. They famously beat a No. 1 Indiana team in OT in the 2012 Crossroads Classic.
The Hoosiers’ Juwan Morgan broke his own Crossroads Classic record with 35 points, one more than he scored against Notre Dame last year.
