WASHINGTON, D.C. — Of all those watching Butler’s upset of top-ranked Villanova on TV, the least surprised was a Virginia viewer who must have felt he had seen it all before. Because Jim Fitzpatrick had witnessed Kethan Savage so many times before.
“People there are starting to see the player that I’ve seen all the way back in high school,” Fitzpatrick said.
Savage, 23, a native of Fairfax, Va., returns home to the D.C. area on Saturday. The fifth-year guard and his 18th-ranked Butler Bulldogs will face Georgetown in a Big East basketball game at the Verizon Center.
