Kellen Dunham didn’t come away from the Big East’s postseason awards empty-handed after all. The conference announced Monday that the Butler senior won the Sportsmanship Award.
“That’s who he is. He’s an unbelievable young man,” Butler coach Chris Holtmann said.
Another Bulldog, Alex Barlow, was the sportsmanship winner a year ago. Dunham, of Pendleton, was omitted from the All-Big East first and second teams.
Also honored by the Big East were Providence senior Kris Dunn as Defensive Player of the Year, Providence sophomore Ben Bentil as Most Improved Player and Xavier sophomore J.P. Macura with the Sixth Man Award.
