INDIANAPOLIS – It is not the Final Four, but a decade after its first run to the national championship game, Butler is back in college basketball’s top four.

The Bulldogs were No. 4 in the first NCAA Evaluation Tool rankings released Monday.

NET is used by the NCAA to select and seed 68 teams for the NCAA tournament. The system replaced Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) last season.

NET relies on game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and quality of wins and losses.
