INDIANAPOLIS – In an offseason in which the NCAA has routinely allowed eligibility for college basketball transfers, it has rejected a waiver for Butler’s Bo Hodges.
Butler is appealing the decision.
Hodges, a 6-5 transfer from East Tennessee State, had planned to sit out and play his senior year in 2021-22. However, the NCAA announced all Division I athletes in winter sports will get an additional season. Under that provision, this season would not count against Hodges and he would also be eligible in 2021-22.
Coincidentally, the announcement came the same day the NCAA allowed immediate eligibility for Khalif Battle, who transferred from Butler to Temple.
