INDIANAPOLIS – Butler will open the college basketball season without point guard Aaron Thompson.
Thompson is suspended for this week’s three home games for an unspecified violation of team rules, the school announced.
The Bulldogs have games at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Tuesday (IUPUI), Friday (Central Arkansas) and Saturday (Troy).
'Unfinished business.':In transfer-happy era, why did so many Butler players return?
So Thompson's first game would be Nov. 17 against Michigan State. He returned to Butler because of the waiver granted by the NCAA for the pandemic season. This is his fifth season, and he could become the Bulldogs’ all-time leader in assists.
