INDIANAPOLIS – Butler finally has an opening college basketball opponent: Western Michigan.
The university announced Wednesday that the Bulldogs would start this pandemic season Nov. 25 against the Broncos at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Butler has not stated how many fans will be allowed at home games.
Butler is 56th – and sixth in the Big East – in the first computer rankings published by the kenpom.com website. That is higher than in any other preseason projection.
This will be Western Michigan’s first game under coach Clayton Bates, who was promoted after the school fired Steve Hawkins on March 11.
