Butler — one of nation's worst at free throws — beats DePaul at the line, snaps 3-game skid

INDIANAPOLIS – Things you did not expect to report in college basketball: Butler won a game at the free-throw line.

The Bulldogs scored 11 of their final 13 points at the foul line and ended a three-game Big East losing streak, beating DePaul 68-58 Saturday at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Bryce Nze and Chuck Harris scored 22 points each for the Bulldogs (6-10, 5-8). Javon Freeman-Liberty had 26 for DePaul (3-8, 1-8).

That represented Nze’s scoring high as a Butler player, and freshman Harris tied his career high. Nze shot 6-of-8, 3-of-4 on 3-pointers and 7-of-12 on free throws.
