Butler and Notre Dame repeated as conference champions Friday in men’s cross-country.
Simon Bedard, a graduate student from France, won the 8,000-meter race on the Northview Church course at Carmel to lead the Bulldogs to a second Big East title in nine months.
The unranked Bulldogs scored 35 points on a 1-3-5-9-17 finish. No. 27 Georgetown was second with 49 and No. 24 Villanova third with 63.
Bedard clocked 23:58.6, beating Haftu Strintzos of Villanova, 23:59.0. Butler’s Barry Keane was third and Clarke Otte fifth. Top three were the same as in the pandemic-delayed meet March 5, when Strintzos, Keane and Bedard were 1-2-3, respectively.
