Butler climbed to No. 12, its highest national ranking in more than a year, in The Associated Press college basketball poll announced Monday.
Coincidentally, the team moving into No. 1 was Baylor, which is coached by Scott Drew. He is a Butler graduate and former Bulldogs basketball manager.
The Bulldogs (14-2) are off to their best Big East start ever at 3-1. Last week they beat then-No. 1 Villanova 66-58 at Hinkle Fieldhouse and Georgetown 85-76 in overtime at Washington.
Kansas is No. 2 in the AP poll, and Villanova dropped to No.
