INDIANAPOLIS – Butler’s Kelan Martin was one of five local players selected among the 20 on the watch list for the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced.
Also on the list are OG Anunoby, Indiana; Vince Edwards, Purdue; VJ Beachem, Notre Dame, and Trevon Bluiett (Park Tudor), Xavier.
Martin, a junior from Louisville, Ky., made the All-Big East second team last season. He averaged 15.7 points and 6.8 rebounds a game to rank seventh and eighth, respectively, in the conference. He is the Big East’s top returning scorer and on the preseason all-conference first team.
