INDIANAPOLIS – Christian David, who hit one of the biggest shots of this Butler basketball season, is sidelined for the rest of the year with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The 6-6 forward from Milton, Ontario, was injured Tuesday night during Butler’s 76-61 loss at Villanova. Surgery is to be scheduled soon.
David has been a versatile defender for the Bulldogs and made a 3-point basket in the final minute that allowed them to overtake St. John’s 60-58 in the Big East opener Dec. 31. Those were his only points of the game.
