Butler has been active in the transfer market this offseason, but had come up empty — until Friday.
Jair Bolden, a grad transfer from South Carolina, picked the Bulldogs.
Bolden, a 6-3 guard, fills a need for Butler. He shot 41% from behind the arc in 114 attempts for the Gamecocks. He averaged 8.5 points and 2.4 assists a game, starting 15 of 30 games.
Butler lost shooters Kamar Baldwin, Sean McDermott and Jordan Tucker. Out of 212 3-pointers made by the Bulldogs this season, those three accounted for 191 of them (90%).
Butler had no scholarships available until freshman Khalif Battle announced his transfer to Temple and Tucker said he would enter the NBA’s pre-draft process.
