Butler lacrosse drops season opener

The Butler University women’s lacrosse team dropped their first match of the season to the University of Michigan. The Wolverines won 12-2 in Ann Arbor on Feb. 16.The match was scoreless for 10 minutes before Michigan drew first blood. The offensive onslaught from the home team would continue throughout the half, including two goals scored within a 47-second span.

Butler faced a 7-0 deficit at the intermission but responded in the second half with the first of two goals. Freshman attacker Karina Latsko scored her first collegiate goal and the Bulldogs’ first of the season.
