Butler hopes home crowd will see another upset of No. 1 Villanova

INDIANAPOLIS – Hinkle Magic does not make layups, swish 3-pointers, grab rebounds or create stops. In fact, more sunlight than magic has streamed through Hinkle Fieldhouse windows in four Big East basketball seasons.

Including Wednesday’s double-overtime victory at Georgetown, Butler has won nearly as often on the road (19-18) as it has at home (20-16).

On the other hand, it was a memorable night for the historic fieldhouse when the Bulldogs upset No. 1 Villanova 66-58 last Jan. 4. That outcome ended Villanova’s 14-0 start, the best in school history.

The Bulldogs (11-3) will try to relive that moment Saturday against 13-0 Villanova, which is again ranked No.
