INDIANAPOLIS – Freshman forward JaKobe Coles will be sidelined for three weeks with a partial meniscus tear, Butler coach LaVall Jordan announced Tuesday.
Coles injured his knee Friday during a practice in Newark, N.J., and thus missed Butler’s 68-60 loss to Seton Hall the next day.
The Bulldogs (1-3, 2-5) resume Big East basketball Wednesday against Georgetown (1-4, 3-6) at Hinkle Fieldhouse (7 p.m., FS1). Point guard Aaron Thompson is questionable as he recovers from a knee sprain, Jordan said.
Butler is attempting to avoid its worst eight-game start since going 1-7 to open the 1981-82 season.
