Freshman Aaron Thompson has seen a lot of action at point guard early this season. David Woods/IndyStar
Less than seven months ago, it would have been impossible to forecast what role Aaron Thompson would seize for this Butler basketball team.
For one thing, the left-handed prospect was headed to Pittsburgh. When he rescinded that commitment, former Butler coach Chris Holtmann did not know if he could recruit Thompson to Indianapolis. Finally, the identity of Butler’s point guard was a mystery.
Now here we are, the season just starting, and Thompson is a point guard logging more minutes than anyone else on the Bulldogs except Kelan Martin, the Big East player of the week.
