WASHINGTON, D.C. – Daring to be redundant, Butler let a hard-earned lead slip away Saturday at Georgetown.
And yet, just as they had a week prior in similar fashion at home against Seton Hall, the Bulldogs prevailed down the stretch, this time claiming a 73-69 win before a crowd of 13,345 at Capital One Arena.
The Hoyas used a reserve-heavy lineup to trim an 11-point deficit to just three before ceding the finish back to the starters, who twice got within two points but no closer.
“We’ve been to that point in the game a few times this season, and a couple times we’ve gotten it done, and a couple times we haven’t,” Butler coach LaVall Jordan said.
