Butler fans on Hinkle beer sales: We know how to behave

INDIANAPOLIS – Although some Butler basketball fans have taken to Twitter to oppose Hinkle Fieldhouse beer sales, most appear to support the change.

For the first time, beer was sold at concession stands for games Saturday against Saint Louis and Tuesday night against Utah. Neither university officials nor security personnel reported any issues involving alcohol.

“I’m all for it,” said Thomas Peterson, 24, of Carmel, a Butler graduate who was holding a beer he purchased. “It’s been a long time coming, especially in Indiana. It’s another reason people can come to enjoy a game at Hinkle.

“I’m not one to ruin a game by getting drunk.
