Butler intends to keep the coach who led the Bulldogs back to the Sweet 16 around for the foreseeable future.
Coach Chris Holtmann's contract has been extended, now running through the 2024-25 season. Holtmann, who led the Bulldogs to their first Sweet 16 since 2011 -- which came under then-coach Brad Stevens -- has led the team to a 70-31 record in his three seasons at Butler, including a 25-9 record this season. Last season's Bulldogs had two wins over the national champion Villanova Wildcats, as well as nonconference wins over Arizona, Cincinnati, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Vermont and Bucknell.
