INDIANAPOLIS – LaVall Jordan retained four-fifths of Butler’s basketball recruiting class after a coaching change. For at least two of those freshmen, Christian David and Aaron Thompson, a hard sell was not required.
David, a 6-7 forward, conceded it was “pretty rough at first” when he learned coach Chris Holtmann was leaving Butler for Ohio State. Also leaving was assistant coach Mike Schrage, who had recruited David.
Jordan traveled to the homes of David in Milton, Ontario, and Thompson in Glenn Dale, Md., soon after he was introduced June 14 as coach.
