PORTLAND, Ore. – Butler opened the PK80 Tournament offensively hollow and eventually fell to Texas 61-48 in an uninspiring Thanksgiving loss.
The Bulldogs hit just 3 of their first 22 shots and finished 33 percent from the field, 27 percent from deep and only got to the free-throw line five times.
“That’s not the best version of ourselves,” coach LaVall Jordan said.
The first half was a nightmare for the Bulldogs offense, which appeared stagnant and sedated at points, almost as if they’d eaten one too many plates of Thanksgiving dinner. With 4:37 remaining in the first half, the Bulldogs had only nine points — all on Sean McDermott 3s.
