The Butler Bulldogs will play plenty this week in Las Vegas at the Maui Invitational. ("Wait a minute," you might say. "The Maui Invitational in Las Vegas?" Yes, it's one of those pandemic-related scheduling changes.)
Anyway, Butler starts the three-day event against Houston (3-0). Other participants: Texas A&M, Wisconsin (one of these will be the Bulldogs' next opponent), Oregon, Chaminade, St. Mary's and Notre Dame.
The Bulldogs (3-1) are coming off a blowout loss to Michigan State in the Gavitt Tipoff Games. They are likely to be without big man Bryce Nze, who has a torn labrum.
