Connecticut beat up on Butler.
In their first Big East basketball matchup, Tyler Polley came off the bench to score 19 points and lead UConn to a 72-60 victory Saturday at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
It was the teams’ first meeting since UConn’s 53-41 victory in the 2011 NCAA championship game, in which Butler set a record for worst field goal percentage (18.8%).
Polley shot 5-of-8 on 3-pointers for the Huskies (3-1, 6-1). Bryce Nze scored a season-high 18 points and Aaron Thompson 14 for the Bulldogs (2-4, 3-6).
