St. John’s made seven first-half 3-pointers and forced the Bulldogs into a season-high 16 turnovers, rolling to a 69-57 victory Tuesday night in Big East basketball at New York’s Carnesecca Arena.
Sophomore forward Julian Champagnie scored 18 points, including four 3-pointers, for the Red Storm (2-5, 7-6). They are 6-1 at home.
Butler (2-5, 3-7) fell to 0-5 away from its home arena. The Bulldogs return to Hinkle Fieldhouse to play No. 6 Creighton on Saturday.
Jair Bolden, a native New Yorker from Brooklyn, was 5-of-12 on 3s and led Butler with 17 points.
