CINCINNATI – Butler’s road miseries persist.
Naji Marshall hit the second of two free throws with 3.2 seconds left, and Xavier erased a 12-point deficit to beat Butler 70-69 Sunday in Big East basketball.
Butler led by 10 points with less than 4 minutes left but missed free throws and committed crucial turnovers down the stretch.
The outcome extended streaks to seven straight road losses and four straight losses to Xavier. The Bulldogs (10-7, 1-3) share eighth place with Creighton and play on the road again Wednesday at DePaul.
