INDIANAPOLIS – Butler’s Big East basketball season has been delayed again.
The university announced Wednesday that its scheduled Monday game against St. John’s at Hinkle Fieldhouse has been postponed because of COVID-19 issues in the Butler program. So the Bulldogs are not scheduled to play their conference opener until Dec. 16 at Villanova.
Butler has had four games canceled or postponed during its pause: Eastern Illinois, Northern Kentucky, Kansas State, St. John’s.
The Bulldogs have not played since beating Western Michigan 66-62 on Nov. 25. Butler announced the next day that there was a positive COVID-19 test within Tier 1, defined as players, coaches and close support personnel.
