Connecticut’s return to Big East basketball has been rough on Butler — which had it rough enough 10 years ago.
The Huskies have been as dominant this month as they were 10 years ago, holding Butler to season-low scoring in a 63-51 victory Tuesday night at Storrs, Conn., for a season sweep.
In the 2011 NCAA championship game, UConn famously held Butler to 19% shooting and won 53-41. UConn won 72-60 at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Jan. 9.
Bryce Golden was the Bulldogs’ bright light, scoring a career-high19 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the 3-point line.
