Austin Etherington came off the bench to score 14 of his 17 points in the second half, and Butler made a season-high 13 3-pointers in an 88-75 victory over Creighton in Big East basketball Tuesday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
It was a career high for Etherington, a senior from Hamilton Heights High School who has played two-plus seasons at Indiana University and two at Butler. He was 4-of-5 on 3-pointers.
His output was wholly unexpected. Etheringon had totaled four 3s and 19 points in Butler’s previous 11 games combined.
It was the fourth Big East victory in five games for Butler (18-8, 7-7).
