INDIANAPOLIS – For most of one half, Butler looked like another home favorite from a major basketball conference sputtering to put away a 22-point underdog.
Kelan Martin made sure that was not going to happen.
The senior scored 16 consecutive Butler points in an 8-minute stretch bridging the halves, and the Bulldogs sank seven second-half 3-pointers to pull away from Morehead State 85-69 Tuesday night.
The outcome raised the Bulldogs’ Hinkle Fieldhouse record to 7-0 and extended their nonleague home winning streak to 42, third-longest in the nation. They shot 62.5 percent in a 52-point second half and 54 percent on 3s.
