INDIANAPOLIS – Butler, which has had so many highs in the 11-year run of college basketball’s Crossroads Classic, ended on a low.
No. 4 Purdue went on a 20-3 run in the first half and bullied the Bulldogs 77-48 Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Butler (7-4) finished with a 6-5 Crossroads record, losing four of five under coach LaVall Jordan. Butler had been 3-0 in this event against top-10 opponents.
Crossroads' end hurts Butler most:'I sure wish there was more time for this.'
Over two seasons, Butler has trailed by 10 or more points in 26 of 36 games.
