INDIANAPOLIS – Saint Louis is not the college basketball power it was when joined by Butler five years ago in the Atlantic 10. But neither was the outcome supposed to be this lopsided.

The Bulldogs showed no letdown after two dramatic victories, limiting the Billikens to 29 percent shooting in a 75-45 blowout Saturday before a near-sellout of 8,963 at Hinkle Fieldhouse. It was Butler’s 39th consecutive nonleague home victory, the third-longest active streak in the nation.

Butler, a 12-point favorite, led by 29 points at halftime and by as many as 40 in the second half.
