Despite the U18s finishing last in the CEE Cup, first-year scholars Ben Woods and Tremaine Eastmond say there are lots of positives to take away from the trip.
The Clarets lost their opening game to Palmeiras, a side which included Brazil U19 internationals, before an impressive draw with Turkish side Altinordu, then going to lose 1-0 against both much older Slavia Prague and Besiktas sides.
Tony Philliskirk’s side were the youngest team in the tournament, including three 15-year-olds amongst the squad in the Czech Republic, one being Eastmond.
Former Manchester United youngster Woods said: “I think it has been a successful trip, we came out here to learn how to play the new way stepping up to the U18s and to get closer to the team.
