Burnley FC Women continued their impressive unbeaten start to the season with a third win in four games to overcome Middlesbrough Women.
Ten points from 12 reflects a great start for Burnley FC Women, and goals from Levi Rathburn, Kenedy Owen and Sarah Greenhalgh helped the Clarets’ cruise to a 3-0 lead on Teesside, before the hosts fought back to make it a nervy finale.
The Clarets, with Leanne Prescott making her debut made a good start and confidence levels were soon raised as an early effort by Greenhalgh ricocheted off the bar.
And they soon led when a corner was met by Lizzy Hamer’s header, which cannoned off the bar and straight to Rathburn to convert the opener.
