attempted to sign Pumas hotshot Nicolas Castillo during the window – and could go back for him in January.
According to reports in his native Chile, Burnley identified Castillo as a target this summer as they attempted to bring in a new striker.
The 24-year-old hit eight goals in just 11 league appearances for Mexican club Pumas last season and earned rave reviews from foreign scouts.
However, according to Chilean news outlet CDF, Burnley were unable to sign him due to a visa issue.
The Turf Moor club eventually landed forwards Chris Wood and Nakhi Wells, while Castillo stayed put at Pumas.
