A half-time dressing down from Steve Stone worked wonders as the Clarets stormed back to beat Bolton 4-2 and go second in the league table.
Stone was less than impressed with his team’s first-half efforts at the County Ground in Leyland as Bolton pounced on two defensive errors to lead through an Olowale Tanimowo double.
But Wanderers then had no answer to a power-packed second-half showing from the Clarets who scored from four set-pieces to move within four points of northern group leaders Leeds United.
“I was really pleased with the response. That’s what I was looking for,” said Stone.
