There will be bigger assignments for Burnley this coming season but there was delight all-round as Sean Dyche's men made a winning start to their pre-season by beating their Dublin hosts Shamrock Rovers.
Burnley started the brighter against their Dublin hosts with Steven Defour finding Walters on the edge of the box, but the Irish striker fired his effort over with barely 60 seconds gone.
It wasn't long before the Lancastrian's pressure told with former Stoke City man Jon Walters opening the scoring on nine minutes.

Shamrock Rovers: Horgan, Bone, Collins, Carpenter, McAllister, English (Dillon), Bolger (Cornally), Doona (Clarke), O'Connor, Boyd (Meenan), Linthorst,
Burnley: Heaton (Pope), Darwika (Lowton), Tarkowski (Ward), Mee (Anderson), Taylor, O'Neill (Brady), Defour (Hendrick), Cork (Westwood), Gudmundsson (Barnes - Long), Gray (Vokes), Walters (Agyei - Ulvested)
The 33-year-old forward raced onto Jack Cork's through-ball before slotting under Rovers keeper Kevin Horgan.
