A young Burnley U23s side fell to just their second defeat of the season in the Professional Development League, with a 4-1 loss at Barnsley on Friday afternoon.
It was a much changed, youthful Burnley side, as eight regular members of the U23 squad departed on loan earlier this month.
And with the FA Youth Cup at Mansfield Town last night, that also ruled out the likes of Chris Conn-Clarke, Ben Woods and Joe McGlynn to feature for Andy Farrell’s side this afternoon.
Which opened the door for four full debuts, as right-back Joel Senior made his first competitive start since signing in the summer, along with scholars Udoka Chima, Corey Brennan and Finlay Armstrong.
