Rangers are working on plans to sign Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield on a pre-contract agreement.
The former Falkirk player is coming to the end of his contract at Turf Moor. And despite interest in the Canadian international from West Ham boss David Moyes in January, Rangers hope to secure the 29-year-old as one of their first summer acquisitions.
Wages remain the biggest obstacle to a deal, with Arfield - signed from Huddersfield Town in 2013 - currently earning in excess of £20,000 a week.
Speaking in 2016, however, the former Falkirk academy prospect expressed affection for the Ibrox club, admitting most of his family and friends were supporters.
