Youth team boss Tony Philliskirk knows his side are in for a tough test on Tuesday evening against West Bromwich Albion, but a challenge his youngsters can take on.
The Clarets host West Brom, who beat Scunthorpe United and Middlesbrough to book a fifth-round spot, at Curzon Ashton’s Tameside Stadium in the FA Youth Cup.
Burnley cruised past Curzon Ashton 5-0 in the third-round back in December, before knocking out Mansfield Town in the fourth round earlier this month.
And Philliskirk, whose side will face either Fulham or Manchester City in the quarter-finals if they are successful over the Baggies, admits that it’s the ‘biggest competition at U18 level’ and one that everyone wants to succeed in.
