The Clarets head for the Potteries on Saturday for a double-header against neighbours Crewe Alexandra and Port Vale.
In keeping with recent campaigns, boss Sean Dyche has planned two fixtures on the same day to maximise the game-time for his squad.
He will therefore split the group, with half going to the Alexandra Stadium and half to Vale Park to face the Staffordshire League Two rivals.
David Artell’s Crewe secured the local honours by finishing 12th last season, as the Valiants battled against the drop before finishing 20th in the table under ex-Macclesfield and Shrewsbury boss John Askey.
