Sean Dyche said that for once the importance of the occasion outstripped that of the result as the Clarets played their part in an emotional day at the King Power Stadium.
A 0-0 draw gave Burnley a precious point after three successive defeats as Dyche’s men wound back the clock to become the first team to stop Leicester scoring in the Premier League this season.
A third clean sheet of the campaign was also a fitting reward for a disciplined, determined performance that bore more of the hallmarks of the way the Clarets performed in their march to Europe last season.
