Blackburn Rovers take on the tough task of hosting second placed Burnley this Saturday as they look to steady the ship in the early kick-off (12:30 GMT).
Rovers have not won in four league games to see them drop out of a play-off spot but are level on points with West Bromwich Albion in sixth place.
A win could see them up to fifth but they will need to defeat a Lancashire side that started the year with a goalless draw to go unbeaten for a 12th successive league game.
Blackburn Rovers have failed to win any of their last nine league meetings with Burnley (D4 L5), since a 1-0 away win in the Premier League in March 2010.
