Jamie Carragher insists Newcastle United are now safe from Premier League relegation after sealing a victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night.
Chris Wood's penalty 18 minutes from time gave the Magpies a 1-0 win at St James' Park to ensure they pulled 10 points clear of the bottom three of the table, with their main rivals in Everton and Burnley having nine games to play.
Burnley occupy the final place inside the relegation zone on 24 points, but Carragher believes the Clarets and other teams involved in the scrap to stay in the top flight are unlikely to eclipse Eddie Howe's side current points total.
