Newcastle moved level on points with fellow relegation rivals Burnley after a narrow, nervy 1-0 win at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon.
Magpies striker Callum Wilson scored the only goal of the game five minutes before half-time, turning and firing in low after Nick Pope dropped the ball in a collision with defender Fabian Schar - with Burnley feeling it should have been a free-kick.
But the Clarets only managed one shot on target across the whole match and so can scarcely claim they deserved anything from the game, as Eddie Howe's side held on for their first win of the season.
