Sean Dyche hailed another Red-letter day for Dwight McNeil as the Clarets’ teenager starred on one the Premier League’s biggest stages.
McNeil produced a magnificent display at Anfield to test title-chasing Liverpool to the full before Jurgen Klopp’s men ran out 4-2 winners.
Individual errors ultimately proved too costly for the Clarets, but McNeil only enhanced his growing reputation as he did his best to keep Burnley in the contest with a series of surging runs and teasing deliveries from the left flank.
“I thought he was absolutely outstanding. Nineteen years old, away at Anfield and he’s running around that pitch full of confidence and full of quality,” said Dyche.
