Matt Lowton believes the foundations are in place for a successful season as he prepares to head back to former club Aston Villa.
The Clarets are sitting ninth in the Premier League table with eight points from their opening six games.
And Lowton sees that as a decent return and the ideal base to carry on the upward momentum Sean Dyche’s men have carried since Christmas – taking a total of 36 points from 25 games since the mid-way point of the 2018/19 campaign.
“We finished strong and we wanted to make sure we took that into this season,” said the Clarets’ right-back.
