'Life is beautiful' for Maxwel Cornet at Burnley with four goals, a strike rate of 50% and the chance to follow in his idol Didier Drogba's footsteps... by scoring at Chelsea

Ivorian international Maxwel Cornet has the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of his idol, Didier Drogba, when he runs out at Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea this weekend.

The Burnley attacking midfielder and forward spent his youth idolising Blues legend, and fellow Ivorian, who later became a mentor.

The young Cornet watched countless Chelsea games on television after he and his family moved to northern France, leaving their home in the suburbs of Abidjan and a country racked by unrest and civil war.

Maxwel Cornet has turned Burnley's season upside down with four goals in five games

Now a fully-fledged international himself, with 23 caps for the Elephants, the former Lyon star has lit up the Premier League – at least for Burnley fans.
