Ashley Barnes has joined the 100-club thanks to his season-opening double.
Some sources have Barnes down as having just 99 career goals to his name.
But Oxford United’s club historian Martin Brodestky kindly got in touch following Barnes’ match-winning contribution against Southampton to flag up a ‘mystery’ goal.
Barnes has not always been credited with scoring for Oxford in their 2-0 win at Kidderminster Harriers in the National League during a loan spell in 2007.
But with that taken into account, Barnes clocked up the 99th and 100th senior goals of his career with his second-half brace against the Saints at Turf Moor.
