Dwight McNeil has capped a remarkable rise through the ranks with a debut cap for the England U20s.
The Clarets winger, 19, was a 65th minute substitute for the Three Lions in their 1-0 friendly defeat in Portugal on Tuesday.
And that was the icing on the cake for the 19-year-old, who was joining up with Paul Simpson’s squad for the first time and, earlier in the week trained with the senior squad at St George’s Park.
Youth team player of the year McNeil, who only made his Clarets debut in May, 2018, has since gone on to start the last 13 Premier League games for the club, played in European competition and scored his first senior goal.
